Smoking-related death to hit 8 Million A Year by 2030

According to a new study by the World Health Organization, smoking already costs the global economy more than $1 trillion a year. By 2030, it will also kill one third more people than it does now. The cost of smoking "far outweighs global revenue from tobacco taxes," which is estimated to be about $269 billion from 2013 to 2014. The study determined that tobacco-related deaths will increase from 6 million to 8 million by 2030. more than 80 percent of those deaths will occur in low and middle income countries.
