Government to pay $24M to settle race-bias case against Secret Service

The Secret Service agreed on Tuesday to pay $24 million to settle a discrimination case, going back as far as two decades ago. More than 100 African American agents alleged that the agency promoted white agents over more qualified black agents. Payments to the original eight plantiffs in the case are as high as $300,000 per person, to payout damages and loss of opportunity. While the suit was originally filed during Bill Clinton's presidency, the case was never investigated or resolved until now.
