It's official: Jared Kushner named senior White House adviser

President-elect Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kusher has officially been named as the senior White House adviser. The 35-year-old businessman will not take a salary for his new political role, a White House official told reporters on Monday. The announcement comes before the news briefing on Wednesday, where Trump will outline how he will deal with anti-nepotism laws. Democrats called on the Justice Department and the Office of Government Ethics to review the appointment and how it interferes with the anti-imposition law. "There is a strong case to be made that the White House is an "agency" for purposes of the anti-nepotism statute and that it would apply to bar Mr. Kushner's appointment as a White House staff member," Rep. John Conyers wrote, a member of the House Judiciary Committee.
