Chemicals in Food Packaging Can Lower Your Vitamin D

BPA, phthalates, and other endocrine-disrupting chemicals have previously been linked to health and reproductive problems. Now research has found a link between them and vitamin D. Many know vitamin D is essential in keeping us healthy. Researchers found that people who were exposed to large amounts of phthalates were more likely to have low vitamin D. EDCs are prevalent in so many products including food and toys. The study, published online by the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, includes data from 4,667 adults.
