Free-agent veteran wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. announced Wednesday he will retire after Week 17's game against the Cincinnati Bengals, ending his career after 16 NFL seasons. “I’m about 89 percent sure,” said Smith, a reference to his uniform number. Smith, 37, will retire as one of 11 players to record more than 1,000 catches and 14,000 yards receiving. He ended his press conference with tears in his eyes.
