Hamari Adhuri Kahani Trailer review | Emraan Hashmi, Vidya Balan, Rajkumar Rao
The makers of Hamari Adhuri Kahani have finally unveiled the trailer of their Emraan Hashmi-Vidya Balan starrer and though expectations were high from Mohit Suri’s next, the trailer failed to live up to them.
The film’s plot revolves around Vidya’s character, who is stuck in an abusive marriage. Rajkummar Rao essays the role of her husband, who eventually gets arrested by the cops and Emraan Hashmi comes as a ray of hope in her gloomy life and promises her better prospects. However, Vidya who’s quite depressed because of her disturbing past, is scared to take the plunge. How this new life changes things for Vidya? Will Emraan be able to fulfill his promises? And how will the abusive husband react to his wife’s new romantic liaison? Well for that we will have to wait for the film’s release.
Though the film is inspired by filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt’s parent’s love life, there is no novelty to it and it reminds us of several other films like Zakhm, Agni Sakshi, Kachche Dhaage and Daraar to name a few, where this theme has already been explored. Vidya’s look is very reminiscent of her Bobby Jasoos character and Emraan looks like he usually does. However, Rajkummar has sported a very haggard look for the movie and it’s interesting, as he hasn’t done anything like this before.
The film will pull the audiences, who like drama as it exploits human relationships and emotions but will be very disappointing for Hashmi’s fans, as the actor has refrained from showing his kissing skills in the movie. Usually, music is one of the USPs of Bhatts’ films, but this film failed to impress us in that department too.
HAK has been shot in Mumbai, Dubai, Capetown and Kolkata. Produced by Vishesh Films and Fox Star Studios, the movie is all set to hit the marquee on June 12.
Mohit Suri unveiled the first look of his much-talked about Vidya Balan-Emraan Hashmi starrer Hamari Adhuri Kahani on Twitter today and it has managed to peak the audience’s curiosity.
Mohit tweeted the poster of the film and wrote, “After a year of hard work and passion ! Here it is ..#HamariAdhuriKahani first poster.” The poster features the film's lead pair and what makes it heart-rending are the tears rolling down Vidya's cheeks. The poster also shows her walking down a road with a suitcase.
HAK is based on the love story of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt’s parents, Nanabhai Bhatt, Shirin Mohammad Ali and his stepmother. Bhatt also posted the film’s poster on the micro-blogging site and mentioned, “A love story that will transcend time - the poster of #HamariAdhuriKahani.”
The movie also stars Rajkummar Rao and reportedly, he will play the role of Vidya Balan’s husband in it. The voluptuous Vidya was asked to lose weight by Suri to get into the skin of her character. Nagarjuna's wife, actress Amala Akkineni too will be seen in a cameo appearance in the movie.
