Amazon rumored to debut Alexa-powered premium speaker next year

Amazon is set to follow up its Echo and Echo dot offerings with a new Alexa-powered premium speaker, featuring a 7-inch touchscreen, according to Bloomberg. The speaker will be larger than the Echo and it will be tilted upwards so users can read the display. The inclusion of the screen is designed to make accessing information like weather, appointments and recipes easier. Fire OS will power the latest device, which will also allow users to pin items to the screen. A product announcement could come as early as the first quarter of 2017 and it will likely be priced higher than the Echo, which runs for $180.
