Missing California mom found safe, cops launch manhunt for abductors

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA — A mother of two who went missing more than three weeks ago was found safe on Thursday, as police launched a manhunt for her captors.
Sherri Papini was found tied up by a passing motorist after she was dumped near the Interstate 5 highway in Yolo County, California, ABC-affiliate KRCR reported.
Papini, 34, was found about 150 miles south of the location where she disappeared on Nov. 2, when she was jogging near her home in the small town of Mountain Gate.
Papini was abducted just a mile away from her house. But the only clues cops had to go on were her iPhone, earbuds, and a few strands of her hair left near the scene.
Two Hispanic women driving a dark-colored SUV are wanted in connection with the abduction. The cops said they are armed with a handgun, according to KRCR.
Papini was being treated in the hospital for non-life threatening injuries that occurred during the abduction. She has been reunited with her family and is in a stable condition.
A group of private individuals had earlier offered a $100,000 reward for Papini’s release, but police said no tips were called in about the case.
