DELTONA, FLORIDA — Body camera footage released by the Volusia County Sheriff's Office shows an officer pulling a woman to safety who had been shot by her husband, ABC affiliate WFTV9 reports.

According to a police report, on Sunday July 24, Victoria Rosado was in the process of trying to separate from her husband, Emmanuel Rosado, and the pair were fighting over custody rights.

Emmanuel Rosado went to the family's home and then locked the door, refusing to allow Victoria or the children to leave. Victoria quickly locked herself in her bedroom and called 911.

After talking on the phone for some seven minutes, the 911 dispatcher heard a scream and the phone connection was lost. Shortly later, it's believed Emmanuel shot his wife in the leg.

When officers arrived on the scene, they reportedly heard Emmanuel scream: “You’re going to die tonight!” The officers were then fired on twice, after which they returned fire. Luckily, no one in the home was hit. Emmanuel eventually surrendered to police.

In a dramatic video, officer Justin Ferrari is seen dragging Victoria to safety as gunshots ring out. The officer later entered the home and rescued her three children.

Victoria suffered non-life threatening injuries and is recovering in hospital.

The 26-year-old Rosado has been charged with three counts of attempted 1st-degree murder for the shooting of his wife and for two officers during the shooting incident. Rosado has been booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach, where he’s being held without bond.
