Bridesmaid Uses Irish Language in Hilarious Wedding Speech
  • 7 years ago

When Heather Carr was put on the spot to make a speech at her twin sister’s wedding in Florida, the bridesmaid had to think on her feet.Wishing the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness, Heather ended the short speech by sharing the famous Irish line, ‘An bhfuil cead agam dul go dti an leithreas?’, which, she explained, meant, ‘Thank you for celebrating this day with us today’.
What a lovely gesture.
Of course, the true meaning of the phrase is slightly less romantic – ‘Can I go to the toilet?’ However, she appeared to get away with it! Credit: Margaret carr via Storyful
