Thousands of women protest against the gender pay gap in Iceland

Footage has emerged from Iceland, of a protest against the gender pay gap.

The video, shot on Tuesday, shows thousands of women gathered in front of the parliament in Reykjavik performing the Icelandic "Viking" clapping ritual.

According to reports, women are paid on average 18% less than men in Iceland. This number is actually reportedly higher than the average European wage gap of 16.2%.
