Early voting in the U.S. presidential election is underway with more than 4 million votes submitted, and this activity is appearing to favor Hillary Clinton--even in important swing states.
The Associated Press notes that North Carolina, which went Republican in 2012, has begun to tip towards Clinton with the recent start of in-person voting.
Returned ballots in Arizona are also said to be skewing towards the Democratic ticket, with analysts estimating a 13-point lead which is significantly higher than the 3-point advantage the party had at this time in 2012.
The Washington Post calls the shift in these two states “substantial.”
Meanwhile, a higher proportion of Florida Democrats have requested ballots this year compared to the last presidential election which bodes well for Clinton since Barack Obama still managed to carry the state despite a stronger initial response by the Republicans.
She also seems to be consistently ahead in Virginia and Wisconsin and has made some gains in traditionally conservative states like Utah, notes CNN.
