YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO — Sitting across from his 8-year-old son on a sunny day, Ohio man Brenden Bickerstaff-Clark did one of the most heartbreaking things he’ll ever have to do as a father — tell his boy his mother’s dead.
Lacy Wood, the boy’s mom, died last month from a heroin overdose city of Warren. She was 29-years-old, reported WFJM-TV.
Brenden didn’t tell his son Cameron that their conversation was being filmed, but after getting permission from him to put it online, the footage was posted to Facebook on Tuesday. It’s been viewed some 30 million times.
As you’d expect, such a powerful father-son moment being shared on social media was both praised and criticized. Brenden said he was “iffy” about it, but wanted to show the impact drug addiction has on families.
