Chicago fell to 0-2 on the year with the 29-14 home defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles as a -3 point favorite. The total went over 42 ½ points. Two straight weeks the Bears were held to 14 points. The team put up 284 offensive yards with 64 on the ground on 18 carries. Jay Cutler hit on 12 of 17 passes for 157 yards and pick. Cutler left due to a hand injury then backup Brian Hoyer hit on 9 of 12 for 78 yards. They were just 1 of 3 inside the red zone and had a -3 turnover margin. On defense the Bears held Philadelphia to 280 yards of offense.

Dallas improves to 1-1 following the 27-23 road victory to the Washington Redskins as a +3 ½ point betting underdog. The total went over 47 points. An Alfred Morris four yard touchdown run with under five minutes left was the game winner as the defense kept Washington out of the end zone down the stretch. Dak Prescott was able to move the team through the air going 22 of 30 passes for 292 yards. He rushed for one touchdown and the Cowboys finished with three rushing touchdowns. Dallas did allow 364 yards passing to the Redskins but limited them to 2 of 6 inside the red zone.
