Somali ISIS soldier killed by hero cop after stabbing nine in Minnesota mall

ST. CLOUD, MINNESOTA — Hours after a Somali immigrant stabbed nine people in St. Cloud, Minnesota, the ISIS-linked Amaq news agency announced on Twitter that the attacker was a soldier of Islamic State.

The St. Cloud Times reports that 22-year-old college student Dahir Adan went to Crossroads Mall Saturday night wielding a knife. He referenced Allah and asked at least one person if they were Muslim before savagely attacking people with his weapon.

Shoppers lay bleeding in multiple locations as Adan rampaged through the mall, going from Sears in the southeast corner to a Macy’s on the north end.

Off-duty police officer Jason Falconer confronted the suspect in the Macy’s store, shooting him down as the assailant charged with a knife. Adan died at the scene, leaving behind nine victims — seven men, one woman and a teenage girl. All were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.

Despite ISIS’s claim, the FBI is still only treating the incident as a potential act of terrorism.

Two other attacks occurred on the same day, with both New York and New Jersey rocked by twin explosions. Authorities suspect both bombings may be linked, but have yet to determine if they are connected to ISIS or to the Minnesota stabbings, according to the New York Times.
