The Missouri Tigers will hit the road to open the season as they battle the West Virginia Mountaineers in an NCAA college football game set for Saturday.

Notes: This will be the first meeting between these schools since the 1998 season.

Missouri concluded play a year ago with a record of 5-7 and missed a bowl game. Barry Odom enters his first season as head coach. Odom has five starters return on offense and eight to the defense. Sophomore Drew Lock returns at quarterback and will have many of his playmakers in the passing game back. The offense struggled last season as the team averaged 281 yards and 13.6 points per game. During his freshman campaign Lock completed 48% of his throws for 1332 yards with four touchdowns and eight picks.

West Virginia concluded their 2015 campaign with a record of 8-5. They earned a trip to the Cactus Bowl where they defeated Arizona St 43-42. Dana Holgorsen enters his sixth year with the program with eight starters back on offense and four to the defense. Senior Skyler Howard is back at quarterback. Howard a season ago hit on 54.8% of his passes for 3145 yards with 26 touchdowns and 14 picks. The Mountaineers averaged 480 yards and 34 points per game last year.
