CORONA DEL MAR, CALIFORNIA — A Costa Mesa driver has apologized for his profanity-fueled road rage tirade against a California cyclist last week.
According to CBS Los Angeles, 66-year-old Robert Lewis appears in a viral video posted to Facebook and YouTube where he threatens a cyclist during a road rage rant.
In the video, posted last Thursday, Lewis does everything from give the cyclist the middle finger, calling him a “queer” and even called him a “dead man walking.” Terrifying.
But what kicked it off? Well, Lewis apparently didn’t understand state laws concerning shared roads. In California, drivers can use these lanes at any time, except when cyclists are present.
The cyclist was in the share lane, and Lewis blew his top.
On Facebook, the video been viewed more than 700,000 times, and Lewis has been rightfully slammed for his road rage.
According to the Small Business Database, he’s the president of Jack Dunn Window Cleaning. In the video he wears a T-shirt with that business’s name on it.
