BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA — A German flight attendant has adopted a stray dog who waited for her for six months outside of her hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Olivia Sievers told TV station Noticiero Trece that during one of her frequent flights to Argentina, she fed and played with a stray dog who then followed her back to her hotel and waited for her there every time she returned to Buenos Aires.

Sievers told Noticiero Trece she tried to shake the dog, who she later named Rubio, because she didn’t want him to follow her back.

“But it was not possible,” she said. “He always came back and followed me. I tried one hour, but he always watched me and followed me. He was really happy that somebody gave him attention.”

Sievers helped find a family that wanted to adopt Rubio, but he escaped and continued to wait for her outside her hotel.

After six months, Sievers relented and decided to adopt Rubio. He flew to Germany to live with her on Friday.
