Dallas police chief quotes Stevie Wonder Lyrics to honor slain officers
  • 8 years ago
During an interfaith memorial service for the five officers who were shot and killed last week Dallas Police Chief David Brown used lyrics from Stevie Wonder to comfort the families "Families close your eyes and imagine me back in 1974 with an Afro and bell bottoms. Change your words into truth and then change that truth into love. And maybe your children's grandchildren and their great great grandchildren will tell them I'll be loving you." President Barack Obama, who was next to the stage, responded with a quick quip before making his own remarks. "Chief Brown, I'm so glad I met Michelle first because she loves Stevie Wonder," he said.
