Hard rains and flooding occurred throughout the Hunan Province this past weekend, and only 10 of the anticipated 300 guests made it to the festivities.
The couple decided to proceed anyway and ended up becoming Internet sensations, notes the BBC.
During the event, the bride told her groom, “Even though we have no guests, no limousine, no fireworks and no music, none of that matters; as long as I have you, I'm happy."
Her words ended up on China’s social media site Weibo, and the heartwarming message of true love was liked, shared, and commented upon by thousands.
