In 2015, producer Shadi Petosky tried to book lodging through Airbnb, but had her request denied when she revealed to the host that she is transgender, reports The Telegraph.
According to The Guardian, Petosky reached out to Airbnb at the time, but the company did not take action against the Minnesota woman who revoked the booking.
On Sunday, Petosky once again spoke about the incident, only this time she did so on Twitter.
Included in her message was the original response from the host, which read, “I really appreciate your honesty. I’ll have to pass though, but thank you. I have a 13-year-old boy going through puberty. I don’t want him to feel any discomforts in his own home. Again, thanks for your inquiry & your honesty.”
Airbnb took note of Petosky’s tweet, which went viral, and announced it has suspended the host’s account, notes CNN Money.
