Notorious NYPD cop points gun at man filming arrest on his phone

NEW YORK — A notorious New York City police officer has been caught on camera pointing her gun at an unarmed man.

The latest complaint in a string of grievances against infamous Sergeant Diana Pichardo stems from an incident at the Marlboro Houses apartment building in Brooklyn on March 8 last year.

Police officers were fighting with some residents in a hallway when Pichardo arrived on the scene, the New York Daily News reported.

Hearing the commotion outside his door, resident David Rivera, 45, went into the hallway and filmed the incident on his cell phone. That’s when Pichardo pointed her department-issued gun at Rivera.

An angry Pichardo called Rivera a motherf***** and grabbed his phone, according to the New York Daily News.

Rivera was arrested on several felony charges and police searched his apartment without a warrant as his shocked girlfriend looked on. Unluckily for the cops, Rivera installs security systems for a living and had several CCTV cameras set up in his place, and was able to film the unlawful search.

Pichardo is a 13-year veteran of the force and known on the streets of Coney Island as “Pocahontas”, according to the New York Daily News.

She’s been named a defendant in 20 federal lawsuits, which have cost the city a combined total of $400,000 in settlement payments.

And now lawyers for Rivera plan to file a fresh lawsuit against her.

Rivera spent 43 hours in custody before he was released. Prosecutors declined to press charges and a complaint lodged by Rivera was upheld by the Civilian Complaint Review Board.

Pichardo faces disciplinary action and it remains to be seen how much this latest lawsuit against her is going to cost the city.
