Floodwaters Rise in Paris Near Nôtre Dame

Days of heavy rain in north and central France caused the river Seine to swell in the middle of Paris. On June 2, the Musée Louvre and Musée d’Orsay, two of the French capital’s most popular tourist attractions, were closed as flooding threatened the museums, prompting removal of artwork. These videos show the Seine near the iconic Cathedral of Nôtre Dame.According to reports, 24,000 people were left without electricity on June 2 in the Seine-et-Marne, Essone, and Yvelines departments, while areas throughout the region remained on high alert.
