SÃO PAULO — A young man wearing a helmet cam while riding a scooter captured a moment on video that will surely act as a valuable lesson to anyone who gets easily distracted while on the road.
Aboard his red scooter, the youth says he was on his way to meet his mother for lunch when, as can be seen in the footage, a motorcycle whips past him in traffic. Caught off guard and a bit shaken, he looks back for a split second that turns out to be costly.
These incidents take place everywhere, whether riding a scooter, driving a car, or even walking across the road. So it's important to make a concerted effort to be aware of your surroundings at all times. The moment you slip up, you could very well end up dead, or in a hospital bed.
