Man pulled from a burning car just in time by Anchorage cops and locals

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA — Of all the nasty ways to die, being burned alive while trapped in a car has got to be one of the worst, and was almost the fate of an unidentified Alaska man who crashed his SUV on Sunday.
On May 15th, 2016, Anchorage Police Department Officer Mitchel Veenstra sped toward a crash scene where an SUV had rolled over and caught fire on Middlerock Road.
Passing drivers had stopped and tried to assist, smashing the sunroof to allow air into the car, but the driver's arm was trapped under the SUV's door.
All the while, flames begin to engulf the SUV, and in the dashcam video, the driver begins to scream in terror as he realizes he is very possibly about to die a horrible death.
Marshalling the aid of as many as he could, Officer Veenstra led the group as they made an incredible rescue; rocking the burning car until the trapped man could be pulled out of the sunroof.
The victim, who was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt that day, was understandably shaken up, but did not suffer life-threatening injuries. The cause of the single-car crash is being investigated.
