Korea begins four-day 'Golden Holiday' weekend

Hundreds of thousands of Koreans are grabbing the opportunity to take a trip within Korea or even an overseas break as the country begins a four-day weekend,.. that's being dubbed a "Golden Holiday".
Last week, the government designated this Friday as a temporary holiday,... handing Koreans an extended weekend starting today,... Children's Day in Korea.
Traffic is expected to be congested along a number of expressways over the holiday and will be the heaviest today and Saturday.
According to the Korea Expressway Corporation, as of 9 a.m, it takes about four hours by car from Seoul to the central city of Daejeon, and roughly seven hours from Seoul to Busan and Ulsan in the south and Gangneung on the east coast.
Travelers can access to up-to-the-minute information about traffic conditions through a smartphone application service provided by the Korea Expressway Corporation.
