Footage has emerged of an orchestra playing music at the citizen movement rally "Nuit Debout" on the Place de la Republique in Paris, France.

In the video, shot on Wednesday night, the amateur orchestra can be heard playing Dvorak's "New World Symphony" while thousands of spectators listen.

Organisers explained that they organised this concert in order to symbolise the new world they are willing to create through their movement.

According to local media, over 350 amateur musicians volunteered to take part in the concert and several thousands of people gathered on the square for one of the most popular nights of the movement.
