Mehbooba Mufti takes oath as J&K's first woman CM

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti took oath as the first woman Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. She was administered the oath by Governor NN Vohra at a ceremony held in Raj Bhawan. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had staked claim for government formation on March 26, two days after Mehbooba was elected as PDP's legislature party leader. The state was put under Governor's Rule on January 8, a day after then chief minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed passed away in New Delhi.
