Protesters invade Oxford Street shops in London

Protesters invaded John Lewis and attempted to gain entry to Topshop in Central London on Saturday afternoon, demanding a National Living Wage for all workers.

The demonstrators managed to push past police and security to gain access to John Lewis, while they also blockaded Oxford Circus.

They claim that despite huge profits workers on the shop floor are paid poverty wages which stand some 30 percent below what is accepted to be the current London Living Wage of £9.40 per hour.
