Baltimore school cop caught on video slapping, kicking the crap out of teen

BALTIMORE — A Baltimore school police officer is the focus of a criminal investigation after a four-second video surfaced, apparently showing him slapping and kicking a 16-year-old boy.
The video was shot by a friend of the teen and posted to Facebook.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon on the steps outside a city high school. School Police Chief Marshall Goodwin and the two officers in the video were placed on administrative leave, according to the Baltimore Sun.
According to the Baltimore Sun, acting School Police Chief Akil Hamm said the two officers were called to REACH Partnership School in Clifton Park on Tuesday because two "intruders" were posing a threat.
The officers then moved the teens outside. A lawyer for officer Anthony Spence told CNN that the teen became aggressive and refused to leave.
That's when a witness recorded Spence slapping the teen three times, then kicking him while yelling profanities. A female officer stood behind Spence during the incident.
Hamm said school officials had determined the two were not students, but a lawyer representing the 16-year-old said he does attend the school.
In a statement, Baltimore Schools CEO Gregory Thornton said, "I am completely appalled and disappointed by what is depicted in the video."
