Air Pollution Exposure May Increase Obesity Risk

A recent study from researchers at Duke University has discovered that air pollution increases the risk of obesity, cardiorespiratory and metabolic dysfunction in rats.

Air pollution has been found to increase the risk of obesity, cardiorespiratory and metabolic dysfunctions in rats, according to researchers at Duke University. 
The study, published in the Journal of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology, tested pregnant rats and their offspring after three to eight weeks of exposure to heavily-polluted air. Another group was exposed to air that had most of the pollutants filtered out.
