A study found that short-term exposure to air pollution and ozone increases the risk of death for elderly people. Using data from 2000 to 2012, the published study found that fine-particulate inhalable matter in the air lead to increased mortality. The study compared air pollution readings in areas of where Medicare recipients live. Conducted by Harvard's T.H. Chan School of Public Health. The study also found that particulate matter is at it's worst between April and September.
