A study found that those who are carrying a significant number of additional pounds may perceive distances as being greater than they actually are.

Jessica Witt, a psychologist at the Colorado State University, found that those who are carrying a significant number of additional pounds may perceive distances as being greater than they actually are.
That can prove detrimental in tackling the already ominous task of dropping excess weight, as it can discourage engaging in activity.
