범죄사건 자체가 아닌 범죄에 이르게 되는 필연적인 과정에 주목하고 이것을 범인의 시각에서 재구성한다. 범인 또한 한 인간이며, 범죄의 심리 속에 인간 심리가 존재한다는 가정 하에 범죄 행위 속에 숨어있는 인간 심리를 분석해본다. 또한 범인이 태어나 범죄에 이르기까지 겪었던 사건들 중에서 범인의 심리 상태에 결정적인 영향을 미친 사건을 골라내 하나의 드라마로 재구성하였다.
