Playboy magazine publishes first non-nude issue ever with Snapchat-style centerfold

LOS ANGELES — Playboy has revealed the cover of its first issue that won't feature pictures of any naked models between the pages.
The cover features 20-year-old Instagram model Sarah McDaniel posing in a Snapchat-style photo.
Dree Hemingway, author Ernest Hemingway's great-granddaughter, appears in the same magazine as Playboy's first non-nude playmate.
When asked why Playboy decided to shift the focus from naked women after 63 years, chief executive Scott Flanders blamed the internet, saying: "That battle has been fought and won. You're now one click away from every sex act imaginable for free."
Eight months ago, Playboy stopped publishing nude images on its website. Playboy.com has since garnered a 400 percent increase in unique monthly visitors, and the average viewer age dropped from 47 to 30.
The last issue of Playboy's print magazine containing nudity featured 48-year-old Pamela Anderson on the cover. She has posed for the magazine cover 14 times, more than any other model, starting in 1989.
At its peak in the 1970s, Playboy had around 5.6 million subscribers, but recently its numbers have dipped to around 800,000 according to the Alliance for Audited Media.
The March 2016 issue will be released on newsstands on Feb. 12.
