Miami doctor caught in drunken assault on Uber driver in viral video apologizes on live TV

MIAMI — Anjali Ramkissoon shot to internet fame for all the wrong reasons, after a video of her attacking a Miami Uber driver while drunk went viral last week.
CNET reports that Ramkissoon turned violent after she tried to get into an Uber, only to be informed that it wasn't hers. Her attempts to knee the driver in the family jewels and trash his car have now been seen by more than 5 million people on YouTube.
Ramkissoon was identified after the video went viral, and naturally, there were repercussions. After being put on administrative leave at Jackson Health System, the fourth-year neurology resident went on national television to say sorry.
Appearing on ABC's Good Morning America, the 30-year-old explained that she had been through a lot that day. This included her father getting hospitalized and a breakup with her boyfriend of two years.
She'd been drinking that night, but says it's not an excuse and that she's ashamed at being caught at her lowest point.
The Uber driver she assaulted chose not to press charges after Ramkissoon apologized and settled financially with him.
Whether or not the public will let her off the hook, however, remains to be seen.
