Deepika Padukone, born on 5th January 1986, at Copenhagen Denmark, is an Indian actress and model.
She is the daughter of legendary badminton player Prakash Padukone.
During her collage days she started modeling for brands like Dabur, Lirik, Close Up, Limca, King Fisher till the year 2006.
In the year 2006, Deepika made her debut in Kannada movie Aishwarya and in the year 2007 made a sizzling debut with Shahrukh Khan in Om Shanti Om, and the movie was a smashing hit. She was awarded with award for Best Debut by Filmfare and for Fresh Face Debut by Sony.
Later on she acted in many films like Bachna Ae Haseeno, Love Aaj Kal, Break Ke Baad, Dum Maro Dum, Desi Boyz and many other movies.
On the personal front she was involved with actor Ranbir Kapoor but later split with him.
She has appeared on the cover of vogue magazine in year 2010 and 2011.
Deepika writes columns for Hindustan times under the title -Desi Martini.
She is brand ambassador for Tissot watches, Sony Cyber Shot, Nescafe.
She is also associated with charitable causes like adopting a village Ambegaon where there is a big problem of electricity. She is also part of NDTV Greenthon campaign.
