Ameesha Patel, was born on 9th June 1976, at Bombay and is an Indian actress and daughter of Amit Patel, granddaughter of Congress politician Rajni Patel and sister of actor Ashmit Patel.
Ameesha Patel was an economic analyst by profession and a trained Bharat Natyam dancer before she joined films. She was also part of the theatre group of Satyadev Dubey.
Ameesha Patel made her debut in 2000 in a movie Kaho Na Pyar Hai with Hrithik Roshan who also made a sensational debut and the film broke all records in terms of business and in the process made Hrithik Roshan the darling of the masses and Ameesha was also loved for her innocence and sweet role in the movie.
Ameesha Patel starred in Gadar- Ek Prem Kahani which was released in 2001, and the movie was declared the biggest hit of the year and was critically acclaimed and masses loved the movie.
In year 2001 with two biggest hits in her career, Ameesha started performing live on stage on world tours with leading actors like Hrithik Roshan ,Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Saif Ali Khan and went on performing for many years to come.
Ameesha Patel has starred in movies which have been big flops too like Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar, Kranti, Suno Sasurjee, Mere Jeevan Saathi. Ankahee, Honeymoon Travels Ltd, and Shart. She has also acted in Telugu films.
Ameesha is the brand ambassador for PETA- the organization to protect the animals.
On the personal front, Ameesha had financial issues with her father and had filed a case for the same to recover her earnings which she alleged were swindled by her father and was separated from her family. She was into a relation with the noted director Vikram Bhatt and Kanav Puri.
