Bobby Deol’s original is name Vijay Singh Deol. He is an Indian film actor, born on January 27, 1967 to his parents, actor Dharmendra and his first wife Parkash Kaur. His elder brother Sunny Deol is also a Hindi film actor. His wife Tanya Deol is the daughter of a top banker Dev Ahuja.

His acting career started with a brief appearance as a child actor in Dharam Veer in 1977. His father then first launched him in their production film Barsaat, paired with Twinkle Khanna, in 1995. This movie was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Barsaat was a romance cum action film. Bobby Deol won the Best FilmFare Debut Award for this film. He then did Gupt in 1997 with Manisha Koirala and Kajol. This movie was a suspense thriller. This film gave him some recognition as an independent actor. He appeared in Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya with Aishwarya Rai. This movie is said to be Aishwarya Rai’s debutant movie. This film did not do well at the box office.

In 1998, he did Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Kareeb with a new actress Neha. This was again a love story. In 1998, his movie Soldier, paired with Preity Zinta, directed by Abbas-Mustan, was an action thriller, which did good business. The trio of Father, son (Dharmendra, Sunny Deol) and himself were seen again in Dillagi. This was directed by Sunny Deol himself and was his directorial debut. This also was romance/family drama, and had Urmila in the female lead. This brother pair again appeared in Shaheed in 2002, Apne in 2007, and then recently Yamla Pagla Deewana in 2011. Bobby did some action films like Badal and Bichhoo paired with Rani Mukerji in early 2000.

Despite being from the glorious Deol family Bobby has not tasted the pinnacle of success which he aspires for, albeit he does have some good roles to his credit which have helped him to survive in this volatile industry.
