What we know so far about the death of American Ashley Olsen in Florence, Italy

FLORENCE, ITALY — Italian police are investigating the death of a 35-year-old American woman in Florence who was found strangled in her house on Saturday.
According to local Italian media, Ashley Olsen, 35, and her boyfriend Federico Fiorentini, 42, had a fight three days before he found her dead. Over those three days, Fiorentini tried to contact Olsen but she did not pick up her phone. Worried, he went to her apartment. When she did not open the door, he contacted the landlord and they entered the apartment.
They found Olsen dead by strangulation in her bedroom.
Police have questioned Oslen's boyfriend and her landlord, but neither seems to be suspected to have committed the crime, La Repubblica reported.
According to La Nazione, Olsen went home alone on Thursday night after spending some time with friends at the Montecarla cocktail bar in Via de Bardi, in the center of Florence. On her door there were no signs of a tampered lock, which seems to indicate that Oslen willingly let her murderer enter the house.
Police are trying to verify whether a black bra found on a bicycle near the house belonged to the victim. Police also said Olsen's laptop was used until lunch time on Friday and that her mobile phone has disappeared.
According to Italian TV station TGCOM 24, police are hoping to find answers in Oslen's laptop and from the autopsy. In the meantime, an external examination seems to have excluded the possibility of sexual violence.
