Elvis has left the building
A record-breaking 22,000 people had a fiesta of fun in Parkes to celebrate Elvis Presley’s Mexican film classic Fun in Acapulco!
Fans flocked to the 120 events on offer across five huge days. More than 14,000 people enjoyed the Northparkes Mines Street Parade and thousands attended the Elvis Gospel Service at its new venue in Cooke Park. Thirty-five couples reaffirmed their love at the Renewal of Vows Ceremony, and the Elvis Express arrived to the largest crowd ever experienced at the train station!
Donny Edwards was the undisputed highlight, performing with the impressive Elvis in Concert band to sold-out audiences at all four of his ClubsNSW Keno Feature Concerts. Donny delivered a heart-and-soul tribute to The King and proved why he’s a multi award-winning Elvis tribute artist.
Special thanks goes to all our Festival sponsors, including our Strategic Partner Destination NSW, and to Parkes Shire Council staff and our ClubsNSW volunteers for their outstanding contribution.
And a very special thanks to you, our Elvis fans and visitors, who helped us put the “fun” in Fun in Acapulco.
