Blind dog rescued after being trapped down a well is a 'Christmas' miracle
  • 8 years ago
BOSNIA — When a dog was found trapped down a well, Fahrudin Bravo and his friend Ratko Koblar raced to his aid.

Animal rescue group, The Harmony Fund, said the dog was discovered 26-feet underground, surviving on food thrown down to him by children in the area for more than a month.

When Bravo and Koblar caught wind of the pooch's plight, they grabbed a rope, a harness, and three friends, and travelled down the dark well. When they finally reached the dog, Bravo carefully strapped him in, and the rescuers gently pulled him to safety.

As it turns out, the dog was blind due to a pre-existing condition, and likely fell down the well in search of food. Back above ground and finally free, The Harmony Fund says the dog is in fairly good health. The group has placed him in a foster home until a new owner is found.

In the spirit of the season and given the miracle of his survival, the dog has been given the name "Christmas."
