Uruguay: Labor Disputes Spark Protests en Montevideo
  • 8 years ago
Three year-end protests in Montevideo mark one of the highest levels of labor disputes since 1995. Taxis and buses were on a 24-hour strike over the upcoming closure of a cooperative that would leave 600 workers on the streets. At the same time, municipal workers protested over the lack of a budget agreement even as social security workers protested the closure of an admissions center of a state health center. teleSUR
