France: CELAC Demands a Legally Binding Agreement

At the COP 21 Conference in Paris, the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) has joined the global call for a legally binding agreement in which rich Northern nations would lead a global transition to clean energy by transferring technology and finance to poor countries in the global South. CELAC urged world leaders to agree to a deal to limit global warming o 1.5 or maximum 2° Celsius, the tipping point that scientists say would push the planet into catastrophic and irreparable damage. teleSUR
