Longest escalator in China takes two-and-a-half minutes to reach ground

A cool video has emerged from China of a massive escalator which is said to be the longest in the country.

The footage, filmed by a local resident at a tube station in Chongqing City on Sunday, shows people standing on the stairs for two-and-a-half minutes just to reach the ground.

According to local news, the escalator which has been in service since 1996 is 112 metres long.
