Two men face murder charges over the shooting death of a pregnant Indianapolis woman earlier this month, and a third man faces related burglary charges.
Officials on Monday charged Larry Taylor, 18, and Jalen Watson, 21, as co-conspirators in the murder of Amanda Blackburn, a local pastor's wife who was shot in her home during an apparent morning burglary on Nov. 10.
"Though everything inside of me wants to hate, be angry, and slip into despair I choose the route of forgiveness, grace and hope," Blackburn said in the statement posted Monday morning on the Resonate Church's Facebook page.
Blackburn said he hoped for three things in the coming weeks and months: that the judicial system prosecute the suspects to prevent another such attack; that there be "great consequences" for the suspects and that they experience true remorse for their actions; and that his own faith guide him to forgiveness.
Davey and Amanda Blackburn had moved to Indianapolis in January of 2012 "with a dream and a calling to start a life-giving church that would connect with people who normally wouldn't connect with church," the couple wrote on Resonate Church 's Web site.
