Një prej mediave me te mëdha ne Bruksel, "Euobserver", ne një analize te saj ka vene ne pikëpyetje nivelin e demokracisë ne Shqipëri. Ne një shkrim me titull "Vdekja e ngadalte e Shqipërisë demokratike" qe mban emrin e kreut te këshillit evropian për punët e jashtme, Dimitar Decev, flitet për një demokraci te brishte ne Shqipëri.
Autori fokusohet kryesisht ne zgjedhjet e fundit lokale si dhe protestat e opozitës. "Këtë vit, situata u përkeqësua ndjeshëm. Ndërsa opozita udhëhoqi protestat ndaj qeverise ato u kthyen ne te dhunshme ne katër persona humben jetën. Zgjedhjet lokale përfshi këtu edhe Bashkine e Tiranes, u përfshinë nga parregullsi dhe nga një proces post elektoral, qe le vend për shume pyetje. Pasi vëzhgoi zgjedhjet ambasadori danez ne Shqipëri tha: "Ky proces ishte kundër shpirtit te demokracisë dhe fair play-it."
