Car runs over teen and shatters her pelvis following violent school brawl

HOUSTON — A 14-year-old girl was seriously injured after a car drove over her following a fight near a middle school in South Houston.
DeBreanna Hunter was walking with friends and her little sister to pick up their brother from Cullen Middle School when they got caught in a massive fight.
It's not clear what triggered the melee. Video shows a furious mob of nearly a dozen girls punching, slapping and pulling hair.
The driver of a Dodge Avenger, identified as a black woman in her 20s, ran over Hunter before fleeing the scene. The teen was hospitalized with a broken pelvis, ribs and leg. Her liver was also damaged.
"Left her for dead, you just left my daughter for dead," Aurelia Hunter told KPRC 2. "My daughter is literally fighting for her life. I wouldn't put this on my worst enemy. Never. Not in a million years. This is horrible."
ABC 13 reported that the Hunter family believes it knows the driver, who now faces aggravated assault charges.
DeBreanna Hunter has undergone three surgeries since the incident and is now recovering at the Memorial Hermann Hospital. Her family set up a GoFundMe page to cover her medical costs.
