It's very rare to see minke whales breaking the surface, but this drone camera managed to catch one off the coast of California, US, yesterday.

In the video, filmed off Newport Beach, the whale can be seen breaking the surface and rolling on its side on a number of different occasions.

Minke whales are known for their inconspicuous behaviour and they aren't very often seen at the surface.
