Dramatic footage has emerged from the coast of California, US of the moment a hammerhead shark decided to take a share of a fisherman's tuna catch.

The video, captured late last month off the coast of Dana Point, shows the shark getting up close and personal to grab some of the tuna.

The filmer wrote online: "We had a wide open Yellowfin Tuna and Skipjack Tuna bite and this beast came to take his share."
